Waluigi has been confirmed to be an Assist Trophy in the game, but given the outcry from his many fans, he may very get his chance as a playable character in spite of this. Alolan Raichu being a Pokeball summon wouldn't hurt it's chances, as low as they are. I've always liked Raichu and it would be nice to see them as a fighter. Maybe they could use Link's Ocarina of Time design instead? Very unlikely given that Link is still in the game, but it would be kind of neat to see. Still, given that Cat Mario was included as a racer in Mario Kart 8, it very well could happen. Not gonna lie, this is just a filler slot so I could have 20 characters on this list. = Below are a few of my thoughts on each character. Some character points have been changed up a bit to reflect the new information, some are changed to improve formatting, and others remain exactly the same. Galacta Knight's icon has also been removed, as he is an alternate costume for Meta Knight. As such, their icons have been removed from the list. Ultimate Nintendo Direct, we've had confirmation that Chrom and Dark Samus are now included in the game as Echo Fighters. Do keep in mind, this isn't a list of Echo Fighters I personally WANT to see or think we will definitely get, it's only a list of potential Echo Fighters that I could see happening. They are listed in the order that each of their base fighters were introduced in the Smash series, with the exception of third party characters, who are relegated to their own section at the bottom of the list. The list itself is comprised of 20 Echo Fighters, each with an image of the fighter they're based on and a list of changes at the side that are made based on the rules listed above.

I don't believe that this is a strict rule for Echo Fighters in general, but given that all of the Echo Fighters we have now are based on another character from the same series as they are, this rule will be used for the purposes of this list. The Character must be from the same series as the base character. (Chrom is an Echo Fighter of Roy, but uses a modified version of Ike's Aether move for his Up-Special) This does not apply to normal attacks, aerial attacks, or smash attacks, which must remain functionally the same. At maximum, only one of their special moves may be changed, however said move must derive from another fighter on the roster. The character must use a signifigant majority of the same moves used by their base character. The Echo Fighter's body type may be slightly altered to better fit their new persona. The character must have a similar body type to the base character. The character must be derived from an existing fighter on the roster. The rules I'm using for this list have changed quite signifigantly, so I'll begin by first listing off the new ruleset for this list. As such, I've found it pertinent to revise my list to reflect this new information. Ultimate, and among that info was the revelation of two new Echo Fighters coming to the game. Well, it's been two months since E3 and we've finally recieved new information on Super Smash Bros.
